Autumn 2016 Newsletter

Onwards and upwards....

Visitors to the shop will have already seen a number of changes to the layout and presentation...

We've been busy! Or rather, our new shop managers have..
As they continue their excellent work, the committee is looking to the future (... Christmas! and beyond!) to see where we further improve this community hub. Take a look at the newsletter and perhaps consider what events you might like and contact janet and discuss.

The Committee is also looking at:

  • wheelchair access to the shop
  • A complete review of the property to address minor infrastructure issues
  • Further improvements in the kitchen
  • more offerings in the cafe.

So lots to look forward to...

Past Presentations

There was a public meeting held in October 2015 where we 'put out our stall' for the formation of a committee that would hopefully create a new Village Shop.

For those of you who were not able to attend, here is an online link to the presentation made by the action committee:

In addition to this website and our FaceBook account, we are considering the launch of a Twitter Account so that we may reach our community and wider audience - such as the many walking, cycling and ramblers associations that might wish to be aware of the shop activities. If you would like to manage this account, please let us know by emailing us here.

Thanks!

The Plunkett Foundation  The awards ceremony was at the Millburn Tower in London on the 28th November - and whilst we didn't win, being one of the two runners-up was a real achievement for the shop in its first year.

Here is the Press Release from the Plunkett Foundation.

As part of our efforts to communicate with the world, we've made a video! It tells the 'story' of the beginnings of the shop and it's development so far - as well as giving us a chance to thank all those who have contributed to its success - yes - that's you!
